In May 2025, several water leakage incidents were reported along the Cat Linh – Ha Dong metro line, notably at Yen Nghia Station and inside train carriages. Root cause of the leakage at Yen Nghia station
On May 23, 2025, during a heavy rain in Hanoi, water leaked into Level 2 of Yen Nghia Station and onto the platform and train interiors. The cause was identified as a damaged roof structure, initially affected by Typhoon Yagi in September 2024 and not fully repaired.
The damage created vulnerable joints and cracks in the roofing system and drainage lines, allowing water to seep through and flood indoor areas, especially when the rainfall was intense.

Earlier, on May 19, 2025, passengers reported water dripping inside the train carriages, creating slippery floors and an unpleasant experience. Investigations showed that the air conditioning drainage line was clogged, causing water to overflow into the cabin.
