Carboline Pyrocrete 241 is a high-density, cement-based product explicitly developed for passive fire protection in buildings and industries under UL standards.
PYROCRETE 241
A 50 lb/ft3 (800 kg/m3) density cementitious fireproofing based on Portland cement. It offers both hydrocarbon and cellulose fire protection for structural steel and may be used to enhance the fire resistance of existing concrete. Recommended application areas include refineries, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical facilities, pulp and paper mills, offshore platforms, nuclear and conventional power plants, factories, warehouses, and institutional and biomedical facilities.
FEATURES
- Cost effective, high yield
- Exceptional durability and toughness
- UL 1709 hydrocarbon fire rated up to 4 hours
- ISO 22899-1 jet fire rated up to 2 hours
- Cryogenic protection against LNG spills and immersion exposures
- Resistant to 3 bar blast overpressure
- Hose stream resistant
- Tolerant to wide range of climates
- Lightweight – One-fifth the weight of concrete for equal fire protection
- Ideal for onsite and offsite application
- Easy application by spray or trowel
- Nonflammable – during or after application
- Chloride and sulfide free – no special priming required
- Non-friable – high impact strength
APPLICATION
Pyrocrete 241 is applied using the wet method, with a worm gear machine. To be able to carry out the application we must prepare the surface and put mesh in place if the constructive design so requires.
